May 2026 Meeting – Luminary Quilt Class

Mari Paradise will be teaching this class.

You will need 3 distinct color families. (light -med- dark) you will need to cut 200-10” strips, varying the strip sizes. (1.25,1.5,1.75,2.0,2.25) I used a layer cake and added a couple partial fat ¼.

Fabric requirements:

• 24 Diamonds: 200* strips that are 10”-11” long and 1”-2” wide, such as:
  • Fat Eight Bundle of at least 18 fabrics, or
  • Jelly Roll with at least 30 strips, or
  • Layer Cake with at least 40 squares.
• *You may need a few extra strips if your widths tend to be on the smaller side.
• Background Fabric: 2 yards, 44” wide
• Binding Fabric: 1/2 yard, 44” wide for 2.5″
• Binding
• Batting: 45” x 60”
• Backing Fabric: 1 2/3 yards, 44” wide (This is a tight fit without a lot of overlap when sandwiching, so you may want more if you like 3-6″ on each side or more when quilting).
