September 2026 Meeting – Applique techniques: Leaf Runner

Joy, Tammy, Anne and Chris will be teaching applique techniques.

Supplies needed for traditional applique techniques (Joy, Anne & Tammy):

• Sewing machine and  sewing  supplies
• Open toe foot
• Thread and bobbin thread that matches the applique fabric.
• (4) 10 in squares cut for the background
• Fabric for the applique. 

The pattern that they am using is from PRETTY LEAVES!!! Donna’s FREE “Leaf Applique” Pattern!!  Donna Jordans tutorial on Youtube. Pattern can be found here: https://jordanfabrics.com/pages/leafy-table-runner

Additional supplies needed for reverse applique technique (Chris):

• Thread and bobbin thread that matches the background fabric.
• (1) 6 in square for the background
• (1) 6 in square for the applique
• small scissors

Note that the reverse applique will be taught as an example, and does not necessarily fit with the leaf pattern used for the traditional techniques. So you can use different fabrics for this one if you wish.
